LOVOL has strengthened its engagement with commercial farms in Zambia through farm visits, field demonstrations and product delivery activities, with a focus on high-horsepower tractors for large-scale dryland farming.
Commercial Farm Visits and Product Deman
During the first half of 2026, LOVOL visited 29 commercial farms in Mazabuka and Mkushi. Most farms covered between 300 and 1,500 hectares, with wheat, maize, soybeans and tobacco among the main crops.
Farm operators mainly showed demand for tractors in the 130–300 HP range for large-scale field operations. Key requirements included responsive after-sales service, mechanical transmissions for easier maintenance, and continuous hydraulic output on tractors of 260 HP and above.
The farms generally have a high level of mechanization, with irrigation systems, workshops, storage facilities and dedicated residential areas. John Deere and Case IH are among the brands already used by many farms.
Progress in Commercial Farm Development
Based on farm visits, follow-up discussions and field demonstrations, LOVOL has established cooperation with 12 commercial farms and developed additional potential customers.
Products involved include:
- 3004: 4 units
- 2604: 5 units
- 2204: 13 units
- 1454: 8 units
- 1054: 3 units
- 854: 11 units
- 754: 4 units
- GM combine: 1 unit
- F4000: 1 unit
In addition, a sugar factory project in Zambia is expected to involve five 354-series tractors.
Field Demonstrations Strengthen Customer Engagement
Two field demonstration activities and one major agricultural machinery exhibition were organized during the first half of the year.
At a farm in Mazabuka, LOVOL held a tractor delivery and field demonstration event on April 24. The event attracted representatives from around 75 surrounding farms and provided an opportunity to demonstrate high-horsepower tractors and discuss equipment requirements with local farm operators.
The farm, which also provides agricultural services and represents fertilizer and seed products locally, has purchased two LOVOL 2204 tractors.
In Mkushi, a large commercial farm with more than 10,000 hectares has also purchased LOVOL tractors, including the 3004, 1304 and 854. During field testing, the customer reported a fuel consumption of 6.5 liters per hectare when operating a 24-row planter with the 1304.
Improving Product Delivery and Service Support
As the number of high-horsepower tractor deliveries increases, LOVOL is placing greater emphasis on product delivery quality and technical training.
Training activities have been conducted for dealer teams, with a focus on PDI procedures, product knowledge and customer handover training. These activities are intended to improve the consistency of machine delivery and strengthen local service support for commercial farm customers.
Continued Focus on High-Horsepower Products
The development of commercial farms in Mazabuka and Mkushi provides LOVOL with opportunities to expand its high-horsepower tractor applications in Zambia.
By combining customer visits, field demonstrations, product delivery and dealer training, LOVOL is continuing to build local experience with large-scale farming applications and develop its high-horsepower tractor portfolio in the Zambian market.
