Case 1: Mali – The Tractor That Built a New Home
In the hinterland of West Africa, as the rainy season approached in May, the Lovol service team set off with their toolkits and accessories, crossing bushes and grasslands to visit every Lovol user.
Snkutupo, a farmer in his 50s from Mali's second-largest city, La Liga, had guarded his ancestral land for generations. With a family of more than a dozen mouths to feed, he could barely make ends meet. In 2016, with the help of a government agricultural loan, Snkutupo purchased a Lovol MB500 tractor — using it for plowing during busy seasons and transport during slack periods. After two years of operation, his life was transformed. His wallet began to bulge. He paid off the tractor loan early, built a new house, and sent his grandson to school.
When Snkutupo learned that the Lovol service team was coming to his village to maintain his tractor, he became so excited that he personally drove his tractor more than 50 kilometers to meet the team on the road. His wife served the engineers freshly baked bread and said: "Lovol is our most distinguished guest."
In La Liga, where Lovol tractors now hold over 60% of the market share, our machines have not only plowed the fields but also planted seeds of prosperity.
Case 2: Senegal – "Lovol Good! I Love China!"
The story continues in Senegal, where average temperatures reach 30°C year-round and there is no winter — a brutal environment for any machinery. Service engineer Zhou Guangjie arrived in Senegal on June 24, 2022, just days before the country's biggest festival, Tabaski. A major customer had purchased more than a dozen Lovol FL956H wheel loaders for sand and iron ore operations.
To ensure the customer's operations were not interrupted during the festive period, Zhou set off before 5 a.m. and traveled nearly six hours to reach the worksite. He timed his arrival for the drivers' lunch break so that he could conduct a full inspection without stopping production — meticulously checking every machine, listing which needed oil and filter changes, which needed transmission fluid, and which required pin and bushing replacements.
The customer grabbed Zhou's hand with excitement: "LOVOL GOOD, LOVOL I LOVE! I LOVE CHINA!"
Case 3: Beyond the Field – Service That Anticipates Your Needs
Our commitment to service goes beyond reacting to problems. In a customer story from elsewhere in the world, Lovol service engineer Shen Li once traveled to help a distributor assemble and debug a batch of harvesters across four different models. With tight deadlines before the harvest season and language barriers to overcome, Shen worked hands-on in the workshop, demonstrating every step — from chassis installation and engine positioning to hydraulic line connections. When technical terms became a barrier, he used translation apps and drawings. He emphasized one principle above all: "Teaching it right once means you can solve it yourselves later. That's the real purpose of our customer support."
That same spirit — of empowering farmers and local technicians — applies across Africa. We provide maintenance training, establish standardized service procedures, and build local capabilities so that our customers can thrive independently.
The Lovol Promise
Every year, Weichai Lovol dispatches teams of overseas service engineers to countries across Africa, providing dealer training and solving product quality issues directly with end-users. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, when travel and field conditions were extremely challenging — with transportation disruptions, blistering heat, and remote locations offering no basic amenities — our engineers stood firm. They wore N95 masks all day, worked past midnight, and suffered heatstroke in the process. And yet, every time a customer gave them a thumbs-up, they knew it was all worth it.
That is the Lovol difference. We don't just sell you a machine. We walk the fields with you, year after year.
Weichai Lovol – Service that goes the distance.
